I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, but I never think about Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving, and by that time it’s too late to make an album. Well, ,sat year I wised up and set a reminder on my phone for October to get my ass in the garage and start recording.
I’m not a traditional choir-y singer, so I knew I was gonna be putting my own anxsty acoustic spin on it, but what surprised me most was how sad some old Christmas songs are if you dig into them deep enough. I was concerned at first that I was making too somber of an album, but eventually I gave in and decided to embrace it. I’m sure we all have enough holly-jolly albums in our collection anyway. But The sweetest part of Christmas is the hope and kindness that seems to be in the air more than ever. And hope and kindness rise up from the dust of dark days and lonely nights. So make no mistake – I’m still wishing you a very merry Christmas.
It’s called White Christmas Noise, and it’s available on CD or Digital Download. I’m donating half of the proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, because I love the kindness and joy they pass on to kids and families going through the toughest of times. (I mean, did you see that BatKid thing?)
